The managers at WhartonHill structure equity accounts to provide safe and steady returns for our clients. Our objective is to provide competitive results over very long cycles. We are focused on the combination of the quality of the companies we own and the opportunity for growth they provide in their respective industry.
 
Portfolio Structure
  • The portfolio typically holds 30 to 35 different names
  • Balance sheet integrity and the ability to generate cash are two of the most critical variables in security selection
  • There are no restrictions on market cap of companies although we prefer smaller and mid-sized companies
  • We restrict industry concentration to 20% of total equities. We can and often do have 0% exposure to certain industries
  • If any holding appreciates to a point where it represents more than 5% of the total portfolio we automatically reduce it by 1%
  • Should any holding decline in value by 20% (relative to the broad market average) we automatically sell it, no debate
